One of the expectations with the new structure and the consolidation process of the corporate governance is that the Group may extend the relationship with new investors. Part of this process are the renovation of the Family and Administration Boards and the development of a Succession Plan that shall be concluded in 2016, in addition to the new edition of the Compliance Manual, published in 2013 and totally adapted to the guidelines of anti-corruption laws and eventual laws that may have socio-environmental requirements in bidding processes. Those measures will ensure better relations with all the institutions with whom the Group is involved, from extractive communities and customers to national and international institutions. Our goal is to anticipate trends and increasingly enhance our socio-environmental performance.
The Sabará Group’s Compliance Manual consolidates the operations of the Group up to the present moment, including all the corporate policies and procedures for the internal control of conduct and integrity. With the manual, the company assembles in a single document the existing internal policies, national and international regulations, conduct guidelines and updates of the internal policies in relation to future anti-corruption and intellectual integrity laws, consolidating a Sabará style of conduct. The document guides employees of all levels in their internal relationships and in their relations with all the external audiences in an ethic way, guided by honesty, respect, collaboration and teamwork, extending the Group’s practices and broadening the actions for human rights protection and transparency. The management committee is one of the committees that were created as support devices to the management board, and executes the main strategic issues that require quick, local and medium-impact actions within the organization. The committee also manages the critical stakeholders, reporting quarterly to company’s shareholders and directors the issues about relationships, performance of the various businesses, risk management associated with their products, society, environment, and taking advantage of opportunities. This process is called accountability and aims to keep the audiences informed about the main activities of the company.
