In Paragominas, state of Pará, the operations of Sabará Químicos gave the local people access to treated water. Through a partnership with a mining company that explores a mine in the area, the company participated in the donation of a water treatment station as an environmental compensation by the mining company. The Group installed the equipment and provides all the treatment products for the station. Taking cutting-edge technology to states and cities charging merely a utilization tax from the population, the Group influences the quality of life and health of thousands of people in the country.
The Group serves 1,599 cities with its water treatment solution, mainly in the North and Northeast
With the Global Service, Sabará Químicos meets the public sector’s demand for water treatment. The solution was initially developed to supply the demand of municipalities in the Northeast region, in which they did not have the resources to make investments in the water treatment stations without charging the population. Through a partnership with a local institution, the Group builds the stations, provides all the products and technology for application, the logistics and technical support.
There are currently 1,599 cities being served by the Global Service, mainly in the states of Paraíba, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Norte and Pará.
During the triennium, the Group saw its businesses in Sabará Químicos being boosted by the hydric crises that hit the water sanitation market. Between 2013 and 2014, the sales of sodium hypochlorite (a bactericide used in water treatment) increased 20% in volume.
